Adrian and Julia Blackshaw bought Hermitage farm in 2003, having never farmed fruit on a large scale. The farm was dilapidated and needed total renovation, a job that is now almost completely finished.  Both the house and cottage have been rebuilt using the original stone, as has the three story tower. The farm's apple store was inadequate, so we built a new purpose built shed which houses our new cold store and the farm machinery.  The apples and walnuts are all grown organically and the farm is licensed by the Soil Association. Before moving to Hermitage Farm, Adrian and Julia lived on a farm in the Cotswolds.  They have two daughters in their early twenties and have four dogs.
